Step 1: Download an Authenticator App
Currently, the two most commonly used apps are:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
Both apps are safe and widely used for account security verification.
Method 1: Download Directly Inside the OKX App
Open the OKX App and go to:
Menu → Profile and Settings → Security Settings → Authenticator App
Then choose:
- Google Authenticator
or - Microsoft Authenticator
and follow the installation instructions.

Google Authenticator requires Google services access.

Step 2: Bind the Authenticator App Inside OKX
After installation, you need to connect the app to your OKX account.
Before binding:
You must first complete:
- email verification
- phone verification
Step 3: Add Your OKX Account
Inside the OKX App:
Open:
Security Settings → Authenticator App
You will see:
- a QR code
or - a manual setup key
Option A: Scan the QR Code
Open your Authenticator App and scan the QR code shown by OKX.

Option B: Copy the Secret Key Manually
If scanning is unavailable:
Copy the security key displayed below the QR code and paste it into the Authenticator App manually.

Step 4: Enter the 6-Digit Verification Code
After adding the account:
Your Authenticator App will generate a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
Enter the latest code into:

Important Security Reminder
Please securely save your secret key.
This is extremely important.
If you lose your phone or change devices:
The secret key is the only way to restore access.
Without it, account recovery becomes much more difficult.
Never share:
- secret key
- QR code
- 6-digit verification code
with anyone.
Even OKX customer service will never ask for them.
Withdrawal Restriction After Reset
For security reasons:
After resetting Google verification,
withdrawals may be restricted for 24 hours
This is normal platform security protection.
Do not panic.
How to Bind Authenticator on the OKX Website
You can also complete setup on desktop.
Go to:
OKX Website → Profile Icon → Security Center → Authenticator App
Then:
- scan the QR code using your phone
or - manually enter the setup key
After entering:
- phone verification code
- 6-digit Authenticator code
the setup will be completed successfully.
